SYNOPSIS
On our wedding day, my fiancé and my younger sister Gu Lan were caught red-handed having sex in the lounge.
I became the laughingstock of the entire venue. Yet my childhood sweetheart Lu Jingchuan proposed to me in front of everyone, shielding me openly for all to see.
After we married, he catered to my every whim.
Unfortunately, he suffered from sexual dysfunction, and our intimate life was never smooth.
It was only after we underwent IVF this year that I finally conceived.
After falling pregnant, he doted on me even more meticulously.
I thought he was my destined partner.
Then one day, I overheard him talking to his friend.
“Jingchuan, you’re far too cruel. Gu Ning treats you so well. How could you swap the eggs just because Gu Lan fears the pain of childbirth and refuses to get pregnant, forcing Gu Ning to carry the baby for her?”
“The baby’s due in two more months. What are you planning to do then?”
He fell silent for a moment and sighed.
“Once the baby is born, I’ll take it to Lan and fulfill her wish.”
“As for Gu Ning, I’ll tell her the baby didn’t survive.”
“I’ll stay by her side for the rest of her life to make up for it.”
So that was the truth.
All the tenderness and care I’d taken for genuine was merely for Gu Lan’s sake.
I turned around and booked an abortion appointment.
I want nothing to do with this tainted child.
And I want nothing more to do with this fake marriage.
